American Cinematheque has announced that their 22nd annual award will go to Julia Roberts. While the organization's fancy-pants name may lead one to think they're a prestigious film society, they're really just a business that operates the Egyptian and Aero theaters in Hollywood -- like Harvard's Hasty Pudding club, the AC folks figured out that if they give some sort of an award to somebody famous, then they'll get to hang out with movie stars, and massive doses of free publicity will ensue.
